EuroPsy supervised practice
EuroPsy, the European Certificate in Psychology, confirms that a psychologist meets European standards of professional competence and ethics. For psychologists applying for their first certificate, the pathway includes supervised practice. I provide supervision for this stage of the process.
What it is
The EuroPsy standard is not simply a box to tick. It concerns the competences you demonstrate in practice: how you work with a client, how you make decisions, how you reflect on your work and how you respond when you do not know something.
During supervised practice, we work with real examples from your professional work. The process is documented in accordance with EuroPsy requirements, but its primary purpose is to support the development of your functional and foundational competences as a psychologist.
How the sessions work
We meet regularly within an agreed supervision contract. You bring specific cases, questions and examples from your practice, and we examine them together. The purpose is not to pass judgement on your work, but to help you step back from it, reflect on your decisions and develop your professional competence. All material is discussed in strict confidence.
Sessions are available in Polish or English.
Who it is for
This service is primarily for psychologists completing supervised practice as part of their first application for the EuroPsy certificate through the National EuroPsy Awarding Committee in Poland.
I can also offer consultation to psychologists preparing to renew their certificate. Renewal follows a different procedure based on evidence of professional practice and continuing professional development; it does not involve repeating the initial 50-hour supervised-practice pathway.
Frequently asked questions
- Does this supervision meet EuroPsy requirements?
- The supervision is structured around the requirements of the Polish EuroPsy certification procedure, including a supervision contract, documented meetings and work on the competences required by the EuroPsy framework.
- How much supervision is required for an initial application?
- For candidates applying in Poland, the supervision contract covers 50 hours of meetings. At least 20 hours must be individual, and at least half of all meetings must be held in person. The supervised-practice period must last at least one year and comprise 1,500 hours of professional work as a psychologist.
- Do we meet online or in person?
- Both. Under the Polish procedure for initial certification, no more than half of the supervision meetings may take place online, which means that at least half must be held in person.
- How does EuroPsy supervised practice differ from other forms of supervision?
- We still work with real professional practice. The difference lies mainly in the framework: EuroPsy specifies the competences to be developed, the duration of supervised practice and the documentation required for certification.
- Is renewal governed by the same requirements?
- No. Renewal is based on evidence of professional practice and continuing professional development during the revalidation period. Supervision may form part of that development, but the initial supervised-practice requirements do not simply start again.
